DEACON EMMANUEL PASSED AWAY. ETERNAL BE HIS MEMORY

This morning (Wednesday) Deacon Emmanuel of the Sierra Leone Orthodox Church, succumbed to his struggle with heart and kidney complications. He was 45.

His widow Magdalene would stay with him at the hospital taking care of him for many weeks while he was still alive. We thank all the donours who provided financial assistance for his medical expenses through the auspices of the Church. These donations will also cover in part the cost of the funeral as well as some of the local post mortem traditions.

The other deceased in the photo is one of the parishioners (Mariam) of our Cathedral – Sts. Eleftherios and George in Freetown

Ce matin (mercredi), le diacre Emmanuel de l’Église orthodoxe de Sierra Leone, a succombé à sa lutte contre des complications cardiaques et rénales. Il avait 45 ans. Sa veuve Magdalene resterait avec lui à l’hôpital pour prendre soin de lui pendant plusieurs semaines alors qu’il était encore en vie. Nous remercions tous les donateurs qui ont fourni une aide financière pour ses frais médicaux sous les auspices de l’Église. Ces dons couvriront également en partie le coût des funérailles ainsi que certaines des traditions post mortem locales.
