This evening, 30 April, seven novices were clothed in the primary degree of monasticism at St Catherine Convent – Kiyindi by His Eminence Metropolitan Jeronymos.

The candidates were tonsured, given the outer cassocks (rasson), prayer ropes, headscarves (epanokalimavko) and also given new names. The holy mystery took place in the St Nicholas chapel by the blessings of Mother Thavoria – the Abbess during the Great vespers.

The ceremony was attended by Bishops, Silvesteros and Nectarios of Jinja and Gulu, respectively; Archmandrite Prodromos – Abbot of St Paraskevi Men’s Monastery – Busaana and the parents of the sisters.
