Cameroon accepts the blessing of the Orthodox Patriarch of Alexandria ! Le Cameroun accepte la bénédiction du patriarche orthodoxe d’Alexandrie ! Kamerun akzeptiert den Segen des orthodoxen Patriarchen von Alexandria ! Ο Ορθόδοξος Πάπας και Πατριάρχης Αλεξανδρείας και Πάσης Αφρικής κ.κ.Θεόδωρος Β΄, συνεχίζει την ιεραποστολική και ποιμαντική περιοδεία του, στην Ιερά Μητρόπολη Καμερούν.
Την 24η Νοεμβρίου 2017 το απόγευμα, επισκέφθηκε το Ελληνικό Προξενείο στην Ντουάλα, όπου ο Επίτιμος Γενικός Πρόξενος της Ελλάδος και Άρχων Ρεφερενδάριος του Αλεξανδρινού Πατριαρχικού Θρόνου, Εντιμ. κ.Ανέστης Αρνόπουλος, του επεφύλαξε θερμή υποδοχή, παραθέτοντας επίσημο δείπνο προς τιμή του Πατριάρχου.
Το επόμενο πρωί, 25η Νοεμβρίου 2017, ο Αλεξανδρινός Προκαθήμενος, τέλεσε Πατριαρχική Θεία Λειτουργία, επί τη μνήμη της Αλεξανδρινής Μεγαλομάρτυρος Αγίας Αικατερίνης, στον Ιερό Ναό Αγίων Κωνσταντίνου και Ελένης Ντουάλα, συλλειτουργούντων των Σεβασμιωτάτων Μητροπολιτών Καμερούν κ. Γρηγορίου και Άκκρας κ. Ναρκίσσου, πλειάδος Ιερέων και Διακόνων, με την συμμετοχή εκκλησιαστικής χορωδίας από ιθαγενείς Ορθοδόξους και την παρουσία εκατοντάδων πιστών.
Ο Μακαριώτατος στο λόγο του, αναφέρθηκε στη ζωή και στις αρετές της Αγίας Αικατερίνης, η οποία αποτελεί ζωντανό και αιώνιο παράδειγμα αγάπης και θυσίας υπέρ του Ιησού Χριστού.
Στην συνέχεια, εξέφρασε την χαρά του για την πνευματική πρόοδο και προκοπή της Τοπικής Εκκλησίας στο Καμερούν και για την στερέωση της Ορθόδοξης πίστης στην περιοχή.
Συνεχάρη δε τον οικείο Μητροπολίτη κ.Γρηγόριο, για τους κόπους που έχει καταβάλει κατά τα δεκατρία έτη της Επισκοπικής διακονίας του στο Καμερούν και του ευχήθηκε για την σημερινή επέτειο χειροτονίας του, ως Μητροπολίτου Καμερούν, που τελέσθηκε στις 25 Νοεμβρίου 2004.
Ο Σεβασμ. κ.Γρηγόριος, ευχαρίστησε τον Αλεξανδρινό Προκαθήμενο για τις ευχές του, ανέφερε δε, πως τις βάσεις για την πρόοδο της Ορθοδοξίας στη χώρα, τις έθεσε σε γερά θεμέλια ο Μακαριώτατος Πατριάρχης, κατά την διάρκεια της καρποφόρας διακονίας Του, ως Μητροπολίτης Καμερούν.
Αμέσως μετά την Θεία Λειτουργία, ο Μακαριώτατος, με την Συνοδεία Του, πραγματοποίησε ποιμαντική επίσκεψη στους Έλληνες που κατοικούν στην Ντουάλα, προκειμένου να τους ευλογήσει και να τους στηρίξει πνευματικά.
Στην αίθουσα της Ελληνικής Λέσχης, με την παρουσία του Εντιμ. Προέδρου της Ελληνικής Κοινότητος Ντουάλα, είχε την ευκαιρία να συναντήσει και να συζητήσει με όλα τα μέλη της Ελληνικής Παροικίας, παλιούς φίλους και συνεργάτες της Ιεραποστολής, από τον καιρό που υπηρέτησε ως Μητροπολίτης Καμερούν.
Αμέσως μετά, ο Μακ. Πατριάρχης κ.κ.Θεόδωρος, αναχώρησε οδικώς για την πρωτεύουσα Γιαουντέ, προκειμένου την επομένη ημέρα, να ιερουργήσει στον Ιερό Ναό Ευαγγελισμού της Θεοτόκου.

His Beatitude Theodoros II, Pope and Patriarch of Alexandria and All Africa continues his missionary and pastoral journey to the Holy Metropolis of the Cameroon.
On 24th November 2017, in the afternoon, he visited the Greek Consulate in Douala, where the Honorary Consul General of Greece and Archon Referendarios of the Alexandrian Patriarchal Throne, the Honorable Mr. Anestis Arnopoulos, welcomed him warmly, hosting and official dinner in honour of the Patriarch.
The next morning, 25th November 2017, the Alexandrian Primate conducted the Divine Liturgy in memory of the Alexandrian Great Martyr St Catherine at the Holy Church of Ss Constantine and Helen in Douala, con-celebrating with their Eminences Metropolitan Gregory of the Cameroon and Narcissus of Accra, many Priests and Deacons, with the participation of a church choir of indigenous Orthodox Christians and in the presence of many faithful.
In his homily, His Beatitude spoke on the life and virtues of St Catherine, who is a living and eternal example of love and sacrifice for Jesus Christ.
He then expressed his joy on the spiritual development and progress of the Local Church in the Cameroon and the consolidation of the Orthodox faith in the region. He congratulated the local Metropolitan Gregory for his efforts during the thirteen years of ministry in the Cameroon and congratulated him on the anniversary of his ordination as Metropolitan of the Cameroon, which too place on the 25th November 2004.
His Eminence Gregory thanked the Alexandrian Primate for hi wishes and mentioned that the foundations for Orthodoxy in the country were placed on a firm foundation by His Beatitude the Patriarch, during his productive tenure as Metropolitan of the Cameroon.
Immediately after the Divine Liturgy, His Beatitude together with his entourage, undertook a pastoral visit to the Greeks who live in Douala, to bless them and to support them spiritually. In the hall of the Greek Club, in the presence of the Honorable Chairman of the Greek Community in Douala, he had the opportunity to meet and discuss with all the members of the Greek Community, old friends and colleagues of the Missions, from the time when he served as Metropolitan of the Cameroon.
Immediately thereafter, His Beatitude Patriarch Theodoros II, left by road for the capital Yaounde, so that on the following day he could serve at the Holy Church of the Annunciation of the Theotokos.
