Έχουμε επισημάνει πολλές φορές ότι οι τοπικές Ορθόδοξες Εκκλησίες, στην Ελλάδα και στη Κύπρο, πρέπει να φροντίσουν όχι μόνο για την επανακατήχηση των βαπτισμένων Ορθοδόξων Χριστιανών, μέσα από κάθε μορφής επικοινωνία, αλλά και να φροντίσουν να διδάξουν Ορθόδοξη πίστη, θεολογία και ζωή, σε όσους από τους ανθρώπους που έρχονται στο τόπο μας , είτε ως οικονομικοί μετανάστες, είτε ως σπουδαστές, είτε ως τουρίστες, το επιθυμούν. Κάτι παρόμοιο συνέβη στη Μόσχα, παράλληλα με το τραγικό θάνατο ιερομονάχου από επίθεση άρρωστων αλκοολικών. Ο Θεός να ευλογήσει τις νεοφώτιστες Βολιβιανές Ορθόδοξες χριστιανές , να αναπαύσει τη ψυχή του μάρτυρα μοναχού και να συγχωρέσει το έγκλημα στους άρρωστους αυτούς ανθρώπους.
Two Quechua women adopt Orthodoxy in Moscow
Moscow, January 11, Interfax – Two women from Quechua Indian tribe were baptized after Christmas service at an Orthodox church in south Moscow.
«We talked about faith with them. They read the Creed in Spanish, I found it in Internet,» Rector of St. Thomas church in Kantemirovskaya Fr. Daniel Sysoyev, who conducted the Sacrament, told an Interfax-Religion.
According to Fr. Daniel, two Bolivian women – mother and daughter, who decided to take baptism – are studying in Moscow. Their friend from Peru told them about Orthodox faith. She is from Inka tribe, but has long lived in Moscow.
The women were named Maria and Elizabeth after Maria Magdalena and the Holy Martyr Elizabeth Romanova.
«It’s probably the first time in history when Quechua Indians adopted Orthodoxy,» Fr. Daniel noted.

Monk priest brutally murdered near Kursk
Kursk, January 11, Interfax – Two residents of the village of Volobuyevo, Kursk region, have been charged with murdering a monk priest, Liliya Kameneva, a spokesman for the region’s Interior Affairs Department, told Interfax.
«On January 3, two young men knocked on the door of the monastery and demanded money or alcohol. Monk priest Efrem let them in. A fight started and the men started swearing. The priest asked them to stop and the men started beating him,» said Kameneva.
The priest was found by his driver, a local parishioner, said Kameneva. The dead priest was sitting on the bench and had blood all over him. The suspects were promptly detained.
