Οι Ορθόδοξες Εκκλησίες της Αμερικής στέλνουν ιεραποστολικές ομάδες σε διάφορες χώρες του κόσμου για να βοηθήσουν το ιεραποστολικό έργο. Οι ομάδες αυτές παραμένουν για ένα χρονικό διάστημα 2-3 εβδομάδων και καλύπτουν διάφορες ανάγκες. Όποιος Ορθόδοξος Χριστιανός ζει στις ΗΠΑ ή στον Καναδά, μπορεί να συμμετάσχει σε κάποια από αυτές τις ομάδες. Μάλιστα, όσοι συμμετέχουν, δεν καλύπτουν μόνοι τους τα έξοδα, αλλά μπορεί να τα καλύψουν άνθρωποι από την ενορία τους κλπ. Είμαστε στο έτος 2013 και ο θεσμός αυτός είναι ΑΓΝΩΣΤΟΣ ( σχεδόν ) στην Ελλάδα, στη Κύπρο, στη Σερβία, στη Βουλγαρία, στη Ρουμανία, στη Ρωσία, στην Ουκρανία, στη Γεωργία και στις άλλες τοπικές ορθόδοξες εκκλησίες. Υπάρχουν μεμονωμένες Μητροπόλεις ή Σύλλογοι που στέλνουν κάποιους εθελοντές, αλλά όχι σε οργανωμένη βάση, κάθε χρόνο. Δυστυχώς, οι τοπικές ορθόδοξες εκκλησίες βρίσκονται πολύ πίσω σε θέματα ιεραποστολής και αυτός είναι ένας λόγος που δυσκολεύει πολλούς από τους απογοητευμένους ( με τις ομολογίες τους ) προτεστάντες και πεντηκοστιανούς να ενωθούν με το Σώμα της Ορθόδοξης Εκκλησίας.

Be a living witness as a family on a Family Outreach Team in Albania, take part in stewardship training in Uganda, or offer your talents on other OCMC Teams in 2013. θα ήθελα πολύ σας παρακαλώ να μάθω ποιά διαδικασία πρέπει να ακολουθήσω για να πάω ως εθελοντής και επίσης πιο είναι περίπου το κόστος των εισιτηρίων.Ευχαριστώ
Πρώτα από όλα θα πρέπει να είστε κάτοικος των ΗΠΑ ή του Καναδά, γιατί από εκεί ξεκινούν οι αποστολές αυτές.
Τώρα έχουν ολοκληρωθεί οι ορθόδοξες ιεραποστολικές ομάδες για το έτος 2013, εκτός από μια, στη Τανζανία, το μήνα Οκτώβριο, η οποία είναι ιατρικής υφής.
